Despite being English and being born and brought up in Stockport, Greater Manchester, Le Fondre is also eligible to play for the French International team through his maternal French grandfather.

'TOO LAZY' FOR MANCHESTER UNITED
Le Fondre went on trial at Manchester United aged seven with aspirations to fulfil his dream of playing for them. However, he was turned away by his childhood team for being ‘too lazy’ despite scoring a hat-trick in a 5-1 trial game.
CHARITY WORK
He has been involved with numerous charities during his career and previously auctioned his worn boots to raise money for the likes Hope for Children, Parkinson’s UK, Pattaya Orphanage and Scotland’s Air Ambulance. He also took part in the Wrexham charity football game against soap stars and regularly attends events such as Dreams Wishes helping seriously ill children.
