Books that are shit!

I read half of "If I Stay", then i skipped to the last page and read that... I was glad I hadn't wasted my time reading the rest... don't think I missed much.

If you are thinking of reading it don't, here is what happens in a nutshell...

Nothing.

Gone Girl.

Utter tripe of the highest order and the ending was one of the worst I've ever read.

See above + A "twist" that couldn't have been any more obvious if the authors had painted you a fucking big picture.

I read Gone Girl recently, what an absolute load of rubbish. 

Phantoms by Dean Koontz is another book that was appalling.

The main protagonist is a "rogue detective by numbers" and the big twist at the end hinges on him spotting that a fella has a glass eye.

Plausible..... 

Until you realise that he's spent a lot of time with this bloke, face to face, during the preceding weeks and not twigged it but after he's nicked somebody else for the crime, he sees this bloke on telly and suddenly spots his (previously unnoticed) glass eye.

Yes Gone Girl is utter shit. It's amazing and sad that so many people think it's good.

I tried to read it but didn't get past a couple of chapters gave it to the cat shop same with Lee Child's last book think he's getting boring now.

There's a lot of snobbery lingering about "proper literature" in my view.
