Neil Lennon is considering making changes to his squad at Ipswich Town tomorrow night, with one eye on the trip to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
After two games in quick succession against Blackburn and Millwall, the Whites boss is having to tread carefully with players carrying minor injuries.
Saidy Janko will have a scan today to assess a trapped nerve in his back while Emile Heskey is also managing a hamstring problem. Neil Danns will be suspended for the next two games after picking up his 10th booking of the season in Saturday’s 2-0 win.
Wanderers edged towards Lennon’s safety target of 50 points but with one of their direct rivals to come at the weekend, the Whites boss is weighing up his selection options with a logistically difficult midweek game at Portman Road sandwiched in between.
“Wigan had a good win (on Saturday, against Rotherham) but we’ve still got a 10-point cushion on them,” he said.
“It’ll be a difficult week and I might have to look at the squad going to Ipswich and maybe put a bit more emphasis on the Wigan game.
“It’s a long trip and a difficult game so maybe we look at Wigan being just as important as the Millwall game.”
