Well done Banks.

"Walker's freeeeee... And has scored! That'll ease the tension on the bench and it raises a huuuuge smile on the face of Andy Walker. Doesn't often score with his head but he made no mistake then."

Whit Hot, Liverpool, Anfield 2-0

I was 23 and it was (and remains) one of the best nights of my life.

He rose "like a Salmon" at the back stick and planted it home.

And the eight and a half thousand of us there went firkin mental.

Brilliant!

Someone punched me in the face for fun as part of celebrating the second goal that night. I didn't react because it didn't hurt, presumably an adrenalin thing, and it seemed funny at the time - especially as he was laughing. Seems a bit odd now though.

It wasn't you was it?

Possibly - I was a bit overly exuberant that night (we'd stopped off at the Kentucky on the East Lancs that night and I had extra gravy and, remember, I was only young).

Apologies if I messed your fizzog up but I honestly never meant to cause any pain.

Like when a small child wees on the kitchen floor because they're "sooooooo" excited - they can't help it!

I weed on the floor at home that night when I got home, I can tell you.......

When Bolton scored their second my Dad lost his glasses so while 8,999 Bolton fans were going mental my Dad was on his hands and knees searching for his glasses.

Seems mildly funny now, but not at the time. For days my Dad was hacked off that some Bolton twat stomped on his best glasses.

The strangest thing i can remember about that game at Anfield was some scally Scouser coming up to us after the game and saying "Hey mister we've been looking after your car" and my dad giving him £20.

Why was it strange, did you go by train?
