Actually, it's quite spooky this.
The guy who played Boss Hogg died almost exactly 21 years ago to the month (ish).

Why don't you whack it on the barbie and feed it to Humphrey with it being free range and all that?

That's just insensitive, Karl.
A poor little birdie has passed away here - show some decorum.

A cat that I feed brought me a dead rat one summer, I threw it into the bin and a couple of days later my bin was full of maggots crawling about.

But the bird would feel that it died for nothing now!
At least my way would make the bird feel useful!

When our budgie died we put him in a tea caddie and buried him in the back garden.
A dignified end I feel.

My Gran was Budgie Executioner in Chief of Halliwell for years during the 40's and 50's apparently.
If your Bugdie was looking a bit peaky and you couldn't afford the vets, you took it to her house in Hughes Street and she dispatched it painlessly and with dignity.
She was one of the first people to have a gas oven and soon discovered that if you blew the pilot light out and turned the gas on, you could use it as a little Budgie gas chamber.
