Our next game is on Saturday the 18th April against Brentford at Griffin Park.

We have nothing to play for but Brentford have everything to play for. Currently sitting in 7th place with 71 points, The Bees need the 3 points from a win to help put them back into 6th place with a chance of achieving the 3rd promotional spot to put them into the Premier League.

The last 5 meetings between Brentford and Bolton...

Bolton 3-1 Brentford
Bolton 1-0 Brentford
Brentford 1-0 Bolton
Bolton 1-1 Brentford
Brentford 2-2 Bolton

Brentford's last 5 Championship results:

Sheff Weds 1-0 Brentford
Derby 1-1 Brentford
Brentford 2-2 Notts Forest
Fulham 1-4 Brentford
Brentford 2-2 Millwall

Can Lennon's men try to stop this happening thus leaving them stuck in the Championship for at least another season?

How do you all think we will do?

My prediction: Brentford 1-2 Bolton

Ref watch: Carl Boyeson to oversee Brentford trip

Carl Boyeson will officiate Bolton Wanderers’ penultimate away game of the season as they travel to Brentford on Saturday.

Taking charge of his third Whites match this campaign, the East Yorkshire-based official previously ran the rule over Bolton’s season opener against Watford, as well as their visit to Nottingham Forest back in February.

Mr Boyeson has officiated 30 games so far this season, handing out 83 yellow cards and five red.

Carl Fitch and Gavin Muge will run the line, while Michael Bull is the fourth official.

2-0  although you never know which Bolton side will show up.

They need it...and we don't.

We will absolutely tonk these. They've been half decent most of the season but are now in terrible form, they've had their 5 minutes in the sun

Preview: Brentford v Bolton

SETTING THE SCENE

Bolton Wanderers travel to promotion-chasing Brentford on Saturday, looking to record back-to-back wins on the road following their Easter Monday victory over Cardiff City in their penultimate away match of the season.

With it already confirmed that manager Mark Warburton will leave the Bees this summer, hosts Brentford’s play-off push remains in the balance as they admirably still remain just three points behind sixth place following their promotion to the Championship last season.

The first of two long away trips in little over a week for Neil Lennon’s side, Bolton will be keen to deal a fatal blow to Brentford’s top-flight dreams as they look to finish their own campaign on a high.

TEAM NEWS

Mark Davies and Emile Heskey are both in contention to start after coming through their substitute appearances against Charlton Athletic unscathed, while Eidur Gudjohnsen could also return after being rested against the Addicks.

Craig Davies and Darren Pratley (hamstring) both remain out with their chances of returning before the end of the campaign in the balance.

Max Clayton (knee), Zach Clough (shoulder), Kevin McNaughton (leg), Simeon Slavchev (ankle), Marc Tierney (leg) and David Wheater (hamstring) all remain long-term absentees.

LAST BRENTFORD XI (v Sheffield Wednesday, L1-0)

Button, Bidwell (McCormack 81), Dean, Tarkowski, Douglas, Odubajo, Dallas (Toral 65), Judge, Diagouraga (Smith 81), Jota, Gray.

ONE TO WATCH

Leading goalscorer in the Conference with 30 goals for Luton Town last season as they won promotion to the Football League, Andre Gray has found his feet in the Championship with Brentford since the last time the Bees clashed with Wanderers back in October.

Registering just two league goals before that clash at Macron Stadium, the forward drew another blank in what was Neil Lennon’s first home match in charge of Bolton.

However, Gray found the back of the net seven times in his next eight matches, with the 23-year-old going on to cement his place as Brentford’s leading goalscorer this season with 16 goals to his name as the club look to secure a play-off place.

LAST TIME THEY WERE HERE (Brentford 2-3 Bolton, 3 October 1995)

Saturday’s match marks Wanderers’ first visit to Griffin Park since October 1995 when they travelled to Brentford in the League Cup, already holding a 1-0 aggregate lead thanks to a Richard Sneekes goal at Burnden Park.

However, things were not plain-sailing for the Whites as they twice had to come from behind on the night before eventually securing their place in the next round – Nicky Forster and Martin Grainger sandwiching a Mark Paterson strike to level the scores on aggregate.

But Bolton soon turned the game on its head as John McGinley fired home from close-range following Alan Thompson’s free-kick into the box.

And provider turned goalscorer nine minutes from time to seal the win, Thompson finding the back of the net with a first time shot after David Lee squared the ball into his path following a swift Wanderers counter-attack.

So it looks like some of the team think it is end of season already...

Two axed from Wanderers squad to face Brentford over discipline breach

Neil Danns and Barry Bannan have been axed from the squad to face Brentford today after an alleged breach of discipline at the club’s hotel.

Neil Lennon took the decision to drop the two midfielders after receiving calls from guests and staff complaining about their behaviour.

Reports which emerged this morning claim the incident occurred before the squad travelled down to their base in West London on Friday.

Both players would have been in contention to start at Griffin Park today, leaving Lennon with a late selection problem.

It also casts serious doubts over Bannan’s chances of returning next season, despite having impressed on the pitch for the Whites since he came in on loan from Crystal Palace.

Danns recently signed a new one-year deal and served briefly as the Wanderers captain this season.

No one at the club has been available to comment on the matter.
