I think it must be me.......

Quick version:

Paid for our new suite in Debenham's recently by opening one of their credit card accounts to take advantage of a further 10% discount.

Bill's arrived today.

Tried paying £100 off it on-line but when the confirmation message appeared it said I'd only paid £98.

Scoured their T's & C's but couldn't find anything about admin charges for paying your bill on line.

Not arsed about two quid but it's the principle.

Joined Moneysavingexpert.com to ask on their forum if anybody knew why it had happened.

Received one patronising, sarcastic reply suggesting that I had fat fingers and had typed it in wrong, told him to get fucked and received a warning e-mail within about five minutes.

I'm on a warning after being a member on there for 17 minutes.

Is it me and have I got a problem with internet etiquette?

Can any of you useless fuckers shed any light on this for me?

How is the sofa Breadders?

Does it feel and look like its good quality from Debenhams?

I'm currently looking for a new couple of sofas/suite and not sure where to go although the have seen a nice set at dear fucking shite!

It does feel solid but it's nowt special.

We only bought it because it was basically half price.

It was a customer return but I'm buggered if I can find anything wrong with it.

The woman in Debenhams said that sometimes people send them back because they discover that they don't fit in their living room once they've taken delivery and I think ours is one of those.

If you're ok with the idea of it being technically second hand, there are some real bargains to be had.

We got a two grand suite for just over a thousand quid.

My first job was as an apprentice upholsterer in Farnworth,and I was amazed to find that even top of the range furniture was complete rubbish under the covers.

This is what I'm a bit worried about, it's like picking the best out of a bad bunch of companies that sell sofas.

Had a look at Next in Manchester Arndale store and not sure if the quality warrants the price at nearly a grand for a small 2 seater sofa, then seeing a collection where I would have 2/3 items out of it for around £1500 would be good quality from DFS in one of their famous "sales".

Maybe it is just me and being out of touch with prices.  Ideally I would like one that would last 10 years or so.

There is a marks and Spencers furniture store (or at least there was last time i went) at the lowry outlet mall on the quays and they have some nice stuff

I've never bought a settee from new, massive savings to be made buying 2nd hand.
