Ah, dial up.......

Back in the days when it took about three hours to knock one out because the video kept pausing while it loaded.

My mate downloaded "that" Pamela Anderson video on dial up and it took him two days - I kid you not.

Very Happy

It was a pain in the arse. Always had my mum on my case. "Get off the bloody Internet, I need to make a phone call!"

Still got one of those 5 inch screen jobs too. Supposed to be handy for travelling, but the bastard never produced anything like a decent picture.
Watching porn on dial up must have been the height of frustration.

Just in case what....?

The world suddenly decides that digital formatting isn't the way to go and we all go back to VHS?

I love her deeply, but sometimes.........

I've got very strong memories about this. It was December 8th 1958. It was Ultra in a beautiful wooden box. It cost £115 but it was bought on tick as that was about three months wages at the time. It had two TV channels (BBC ad ITV) and three radio channels-Home ,Light and Third.
I remember the day also as I was at school at the time and nearly wet myself with excitement at getting it. The first  night it had Hughie Green with  Criss Cross  Quiz. The next night was Open the Box (and the Yes/No interlude) with Michael Miles
The whole street came to watch it  and some even brought their own chairs- and watched it until the dot disappeared.

Bet Brucie was on it. The Third programme brings back a few memories. Anyone remember the interlude?

I like it on here. Sometimes my kids make me feel a little old and then I log on and realise I'm just a baby really compared to you lot.
