Neil Lennon is confident his side’s efforts in the final third of the pitch will soon be rewarded with goals.
Three competitive games into the new season, Wanderers are yet to register on the scoresheet despite hitting the woodwork and coming close on a number of occasions against Derby and Burton.
And after drawing a blank against Middlesbrough on Saturday, the manager says his side’s performances will soon result in goals.
Speaking ahead of the game at MK Dons, Lennon said: “I’m not overly concerned about the lack of goals, because the manner of the performances, aside from the one half at Middlesbrough, has been good.
“It’s not like we haven’t looked like scoring, because we have. We had chances in the second half at Middlesbrough and looked good against Derby and Burton.
“We’ll be a lot stronger going forward come Tuesday night. We’re hoping to get a deal concluded for an attacking player before Tuesday’s game. He’s with us at the moment and hopefully that’ll be finalised before the game.
“Zach Clough and Gary Madine certainly have goals in them. We shouldn’t also forget Max Clayton, who is working away in the background – he’s not too far away now. I feel we’ve also got goals in midfield from the likes of Darren Pratley and Stephen Dobbie.
“We know what we’re going to get from Emile. It was a hard shift for him on Saturday and we maybe just need to get a bit more support for him at times. That said, playing the full 90 will do him the world of good.”
