Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!
I reckon whittams bumped him off because he was getting too close to her record post count. Either that, or Johnny's bumped him off to catch him up.

Used to see him at most home games but I've moved to The Family Stand for the moment.
So maybe see him later in the Season.

Both eminently plausible scenarios.
But I seem to remember him saying that he was going on his holidays.
About a month ago......
Could he have snapped and decided that he could no longer face a life of drudgery back in Bolton and did one into the bushes to live the life of a feral monkey?
I'd like to think so.

Is it OK to start a sentence with the word 'but'?
I know it's a bit of a strange question but I was thinking it, so I asked it. As a master of pedantry, I thought you would know.
I really need to get out more............

Welcome to the club my friend.
"But" is fine but "Because" is a definite no-no.
As is "And".
Mrs Wallwork told me so at Smithills in 1984.
And she was fit.
So I've always kept to her rules over the following years.
If she'd had a beard and bad breath, I'd probably be a lot less anal about this stuff now.....innit?

And we had a teacher at our school, Miss Hayes, all the lads liked.
Because she was fit!
But it sounds alright to me?

If he has Breaders, we can look forward to having them reorganise, and settling down to be a proper political party. He's very persuasive with his arguments is our RT.

There always seem to be exceptions to the grammar we were taught at school.
What about these examples of correct use of "because" and "but" even though they begin sentences?
"But for Nat, we'd have died of boredom long ago."
"Because she's good at BEL, we wouldn't want her to leave."
It's also possible to begin a sentence with "And" especially if you want to emphasise your point.
e.g: ".........And another thing: she provokes a reaction."
N.B. The above examples do not necessarily represent the writer's own views.

As you well know, you are using "but" as a preposition in that context rather than its more common usage as a conjunction and that's cheating.
Naughty.

Nobody said anything about what part of speech was allowed, Breaders.
(BUT you obviously attended a worthwhile school..........and you listened, like a good scholar......)

You can just imagine him in a pub with his appletini, correcting everyone on their grammar.
