Conor Wilkinson came off the bench as Barnsley exited the Capital One Cup against Premier League side Everton in a dramatic clash at Oakwell.
Having seen the Tykes let a 2-0 and 3-2 lead slip, the Republic of Ireland Under-21s international joined the action in the 83rd minute in place of Sam Winnall as the tie went into extra-time.
First goals from for Winnall and Marley Watkins had put Barnsley 2-0 up at the break, only to be pegged back by quick-fire strikes from Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith.
Daniel Crowley instantly fired Lee Johnson’s side back in front on the hour-mark, only for Romelu Lukaku equalised to force extra-time.
A Marc Roberts own goal then saw Everton take the lead for the first time on the night, before Lukaku netted his second late on to secure the Toffees’ place in the third round despite Barnsley’s best efforts.
