Wanderers have snapped up goalkeeper Paul Rachubka on a one-year contract.
The former Leeds and Oldham Athletic stopper has been signed to a short-term deal to provide competition for Ben Amos.
American-born, Rachubka began his career with Manchester United and made one appearance for the Reds in the 2000 FIFA World Club Championship.
He has since played for a number of clubs, with his most lengthy spells coming at Huddersfield Town and Blackpool.
Rachubka is based in Cheshire and had been tipped to sign for Crewe this summer after a successful loan spell at Gresty Road.
The 33-year-old has worked closely with another Wanderers coaching favourite, Fred Barber, in recent months.
