I'm still here but I'm more of a responder than a creator, alas there is nothing to respond to (apart from this).

Yeah.
They paid out about two years ago and I thought that was it.
But then out of the blue this letter arrives telling me they're sending us another five and a half grand.
Proper free money.
I am genuinely shocked.
Caramacs and Pepsi all round on me!!

I got home from work completely soaked. I've been quietly steaming ever since. Apart from that,
I've put one of our many coloured bins out(black, this time)handle toward the road, lid fully closed,as instructed,so that our wonderful binmen can amble along behind the bin lorry and not have to make too much effort.
I can remember when the bins were metal, and the binmen carried them round to the the front of the house on their shoulders, then brought them back.
Ours won't even pick up a bag if it's left by the side of the bin. H&S apparently.
Lazy bastards.

i remember when i was a kid (probably mid 70's) my Dad invited the bin men in for a brew at Christmas and they were black from head to toe (not in a racist way either before anyone starts). The bin men these days could wear a tuxedo and not even get it dirty.

How did we get it all in the one old style metal bin?
We must have done but looking back, there were four of us in our house when I was growing up and it seems hard to believe one bin was enough.
Were they magic TARDIS bins back then?

just a a guess as i'm not old enough to remember the metal bin...................(sorry, had to get that in!)
was it not a case of there was a lot less packaging on things back then? Everything has TOO much packaging these days. it really is ridiculous!

At our local centre there are 3 glass bottle banks.
One for green bottles, one for brown bottles and one for plain bottles.
When they come to empty them, they all get tipped into the same lorry.
What's all that about?

you could probably just stick it in a bag next to the bin and shock horror, the bin men would actually pick it up and put in it the wagon

When I worked at Jacobs in Liverpool it was exactly the same.
I spent 6 months drilling the staff to separate all the waste materials and bag it accordingly then Sefton Council came along in a big wagon and lobbed it all in together.
Waste of everybody's time.

It's quiet because the bumchum's are sucking the life out of the site.
It's ok if you're in the bumchums, but for the majority it's a complete turn off.
Shame on you.

Football forums are dying on their arses thanks to Twitter, Faceybook and all the other stuff out there.
You'd be fucked without us so you should be thanking us really.

You're right of course, I consider you all my close friends. Let's face it, I talk to you bumchums more than my real life friends.
