Rob Hall and Oscar Threlkeld both made late substitute appearances for their respective loan sides on Saturday during the latest round of Football League fixtures.

In the Sky Bet Championship’s lunchtime kick-off, Hall replaced Ben Reeves for MK Dons in the 79th minute with the scores 1-1 at Stadium mk – Josh Murphy cancelling out Bradley Johnson’s opener for Derby County.

However, two goals in the final two minutes from Darren Bent and Tom Ince secured victory for Paul Clement’s side as Dons suffered their sixth successive defeat in all competitions.

Meanwhile in League Two, Threlkeld came on for Graham Carey in the 87th minute as Plymouth Argyle drew 0-0 away at Mansfield Town.

Elsewhere, Conor Wilkinson was an unused substitute for Barnsley as they won 2-0 at home to Gillingham.

We get in a loanee and he's generally a nailed on starter given the standard of our squad. We loan players out to make way and they warm benches. Frustrating.

none of our players on loan seem to be regular starters at their clubs, slightly worrying i think

There's a reason they've been loaned out from a struggling club. They are dog shit
