Neil Lennon believes his side were unfortunate not to take maximum points away from the recent home game against Leeds United.
Bolton went a goal up against Steve Evans’ side at Macron Stadium thanks to debutant Shola Ameobi’s first-half strike.
But after the interval Leeds levelled when Prince-Desire Gouano was shown red after upending Mirco Antenucci inside the area, before the Italian converted from the spot.
Speaking in his post-match press conference the manager said: “I thought we were unfortunate today.
“We aren’t playing like a side at the bottom of the league right now. For me, the game was there for us to win, so it is a little frustrating.
“Shola Ameobi scores with a great finish to put us a goal up. He did really when he came on. It was unfortunate that Gary Madine had to go off with a bit of concussion.
“People raised their eyebrows when we brought Shola in, but he’s shown today that’ll he make us better. That was his first game for a long time and I thought he contributed a lot.
“We can have no complaints about the red card. It was a penalty and an individual error from Prince, who was playing really well up until then. We just have to concentrate a little bit more and cut the individual errors out.
“That’s the way our luck has been going for us recently. I thought after the red card we did well and held out comfortably with ten men.
“The fans continue to be tremendous. There wasn’t one negative voice today and we’re really appreciative of that given our league position.
“All in all, it’s a point in our favour and we move on. We know we have to start winning games and turning draws into wins.”
