Jonah Lomu dies aged 40

What a shame, sensational player.

That's really weird as I had the urge the other day to look him up on Wikipedia.

RIP

What happened?

Edit: just read that it was kidney disease.

Always remember watching him on the telly when I was younger, was a fantastic rugby player.

He'd been ill for a while.

Sad news.

Just shows, you can be a big, fit bloke but you're still vulnerable.

I didn't know he'd been ill until I saw his arm a couple of years back and googled it.

He was a truly great player.

Shame.

Same here. I've never been a fan of rugby and didn't know any rugby players except for one. Jonah Lomu. Such pace and power, a real icon.

His 40 odd tries in 63 games for NZ is a massive haul in that game.
He's had kidney problems for 20 years.
Such a young age to go and one of the few I liked to watch in yawnion.

He was certainly a beast of a player. He had bags of pace for a big fella as well. I can still remember him running straight through and over Mike Catt when we played them in the World Cup semi final. RIP

Great player. Imagine him coming at you at pace. Awesome.
