Needs some context to it really, how does that stack up against the rest of the league? Agents fees are a fact of life in football unfortunately the only way of avoiding them is doing a Blackpool and that's not done much for them.

Here is the article from the BN...

Wanderers have confirmed that nearly £1million was spent on agents’ fees between October 2014 and September 2015.

Despite not spending a penny on transfer fees during the whole period – which also coincides with Neil Lennon’s arrival at the club – the sum of £964,869 is bound to raise eyebrows among supporters.

The amount is up considerably on the previous accounting period, between July 1 2013 and June 20 2014, when the Football League revealed that Wanderers had paid out £639,840 in fees.

That was roughly half of what they had spent a year earlier, when the same report detailed a spend of £1,605,723.

Two other clubs have thus far released the details of what they spent on agents in the same time period last season: Burnley (£1,363,860) and Brighton £912,420. The Clarets, however, were a Premier League club last term.

What's the fuss about?  I'm sure all this was in contracts that have to be paid just like salaries and other costs. No need to make a headline out of it.  Of course we were told that a deal could be in place by Friday but not a mention....maybe that should be the headline of the day?

I'm sure there are staggered payments from previous signings which rolled over into the period mentioned but a million quid during a time when we signed no-one is a pretty shocking figure. It just goes to show how clubs like ours can get into an almighty mess by trying to operate at a level that we simply can't compete. And how silly the game now is.

Looks like it all got away from the people managing the clubs finances and there was little to no plan for a downturn in fortunes like getting relegated and not bouncing back at the first attempt.

Negligent management at its finest and the sooner we're rid of the idiots who put us in this mess the better, regardless of division.
