There are a number of players who we had on our books or had on loan who have gone on to be pretty solid players (or would have been good gor us). How good could we be if a few of our managers had got the backing they wanted so as to keep them?

I wish we could have kept Klasnic. Boyata was dogshit during his limited appearances for us. Sturridge was another loan player that we could have done with keeping.

Six former Wanderers players in that line-up. I can remember Steve Taylor banging them in, in the mid seventies alongside Neil Whatmore.  Iirc Paul Comstive passed away recently.

They're all former Wanderers and Clarets Reebok Trotter. 

One or two must be before my time Copper. It might be the Doombar kicking in! You should have included Willie Morgan in the line-up as well.

Willie is on the bench with Paul Atkinson, Delroy Facey, Derek Scott, Brian Pilkington, Tony Philliskirk and David Reeves.

I remember Philliskirk and Reeves, they were the pre-cursor to McGinlay and Blake. 

Andy Todd was going to start but he was late for training last week because he had to pull the 8:02 train from Crewe.

No wonder I missed my connection,the fat,lazy bastard.

Andy Todd!  . Hard as nails but had a very short fuse. Twatted Stan Collywobble good and proper but wasn't averse to lumping his own team mates like the hiding he gave to Phil Brown. Even Big Sam thought he was a liability and couldn't control him.

I was originally trying to pick more recent players but bummed in a couple more to make up the numbers.

Gerry Taggart was a proper bruiser who could dish it out but totted up a lot of cards in his career. A back four of him, Kevin Beattie, Graham Roberts and Trevor Cherry would be entertaining to watch and we could have Norman Hunter, Tommy Smith and Jimmy Case on the bench for reinforcements.

I remember the first time I saw them, away at Cardiff. I was quite impressed with them, until they started playing  
They struck me as a pair of posers, but fair do's they did play well, intermittently.
