I love snorkelling and was thinking of getting one of these:

Anybody used one of these? Scubamax-full-face-snorkel-mask-Big-27


They're supposed to be far better than the conventional mask and snorkel arrangement that I normally use because they're fog-free and you don't keep getting a mouthful of sea water every so often.

I'm tempted (despite the fact that they look a bit gimpy) and was wondering if any of you lot had tried one.

Cheers in advance for taking this seriously and not turning it into a "weird S&M, bizarre sex" thread.

Because there's no way you lot would do that, is there.....?

Easy mistake to make but the way you can tell the difference is the penis-shaped protuberance on the top of Mard Kavies' head is slightly bigger.

Decathlon do them as you probably know. I've never seen anyone wearing one of them and having just bought a fresh mask and snorkel after binning some 20yr old stuff I wouldn't even be tempted by one.

Anyroad.......

Bought one.

It came, I tried it on....it didn't fit.

(I could get my index finger in the gap between the mask and my face in at least two places, thus convincing me that it wouldn't be all that water tight.)

So I decided to return it.

But it turns out that the vendor lives in China, the sneaky, inscrutable twat (probably got a Fu Manchu moustache and everything) so the return costs were prohibitive.

Which left me with a problem.

But all wasn't lost because I re-listed it as "Brand new - other" and flogged it to some bloke in Bristol and mitigated my losses - Happy days.

However......

I then entered the murky world of being an Ebay seller and having to deal with PayPal and all that entails.

Gary from Brizzle paid me straight away and I sent his package off with a jaunty wave and wished him and the mask well.

But then I tried withdrawing my money from my PayPal account.

They asked that I give them my bank account details - Fair enough (although I did wonder why they couldn't use their massive IT resources to automatically link it to the bank account which I have used for over fifteen years to buy stuff from Ebay, given that Ebay owns PayPal and presumably shares an IT system but hey ho.)

But this is when I started to get properly pissed off because once I'd entered my bank details, they said "Great! We'll email you a validation code and it's dead simple, yeah....? You just type it in, yeah? It's like that simple. And then you get the money. #HOWGOODISTHAT!"

However, it's five days on now and I'm still waiting for my email from PayPal.

Is this a con to keep our money in their account?

It's shit like this that makes me think that we'd all be better off if we all still met up once a week in the market square and swapped chickens for bags of wheat or summat.
