I retired a year ago, wasted the first year waiting for them to finish the extension on the bungalow, and I started chemo in January.
In a couple of weeks I will be having the last of the chemo treatments, (although 'maintenance' will continue until July), and the quack tells me that the main tumour (I have Lymphoma), has 'almost disappeared'. So things are definitely on the up, and now I can start to enjoy life and my retirement. I'll be 66 in June, and really, its nothing more than a number. Like Wander, I've managed to put enough beer coupons to one side to last until I fall off my perch, I hope. The only advice I would give is to plan for your retirement, but enjoy what you have now, as well..
