Man Flu

I've had it for two bastard weeks now and it's getting old.

Hi Vis snot, a hacking cough, a dull ache all across my forehead and the general feeling that I've just gone 12 rounds with a rhino.

Apparently (according to my quack) the H1N1 Swine Flu bug never actually went away and it's believed to be making a comeback, albeit it in a slightly more benign form.

This would explain why my "bit of a cold" (Copyright: Mrs Bread, all rights reserved) doesn't appear to be in any particular rush to vacate my system.

I know Boncey's been rough of late but is anybody else suffering?

ok at the moment but i did get swine flu a few years ago, it knocked me sideways for about a month.

Man flu is a very serious illness by the way, a fact not recognised by most of the female population 

I know how you feel Bread. I can't seem to throw it off.
I can normally work through it,but I've been struggling. Added to which,I'm getting complaints because I stink of Vick's VapoRub. Olbas oil might be a better option.
If I blow my nose any harder,what's left of my brain will fall out. 
Another problem is my need to search the internet for quack cures. Sleeping with an onion strapped to your head,wearing stockings and suspenders in the bath(I may have imagined that one)and inhaling steam have all been tried with very little effect.

I had this cold it lasted 3 days and the after cough has been going on for just over 4 weeks no sign of it going.

Man flu is terrible.

It's a nightmare and I really feel for both bread and bonce. This year I've managed to get away without being stricken by the dreaded man flu but in a lot of previous winters I've gone to work feeling like someone's playing the anvil chorus inside my skull with real sledge hammers, my nose has been bunged up so badly that blowing it hurt my eardrums and my throat felt like someone rubbed the lining with super coarse sandpaper. Every joint ached, I was sweating like a pig despite feeling freezing cold and I wondered if my eyeballs were just going to give into the pressure at the top of my nose and pop out of my head. 

Seriously guys, I hope you both feel better soon, same to anyone else who's had a rough winter.

Thanks Peter. I,for one,am feeling a lot better tonight. Spent most of the afternoon asleep,and despite waking to the usual defeat for the Whites,I felt I could face the world with a little more enthusiasm.
Still stink of Vick's VapoRub though.
