Well according to my boss who is good friends with John he couldn't wait to tell me today he's been offered the job at the Macron , Apparently he has been offered lot more salary but feels loyal to Oldham according to my boss he's having a meeting with Oldham and if he gets more salary there he will stay , Either way at 11/4 on sky ive put £20 quid on , my boss not one to bullshit might not happen but at them odds I am having a go.

So do we go for an each way bet - just in case either wins.Norpig wrote:this doesn't fill me with joy but it may be worth a flutter
Though I reckon Brownie will be sacked Wednesday and ready to take over for Friday. The fact that Brown wants a meeting with his chairman to "resolve" the situation of a trust breakdown with the players, tells me wont be at Southend too long.
What could Southend chairman offer - Browns at beginning of 3 year contract - so extending it won't resolve trust issue. Perhaps a transfer budget? Higher wages would just nark the players.
Not sure how trust situation can be resolved, other than him leaving the club. So I think Brown will be installed Friday

Feel a little bit for Oldham, that keep having to let managers go, but would take Sheridan over Brown.

Would prefer Sheridan myself, but think board would love to appoint Brown and a little more time and pressure will tellNickFazer wrote:Feel a little bit for Oldham, that keep having to let managers go, but would take Sheridan over Brown.

Here we are, our boards first serious transaction for new personnel, and its already turning into a dogs dinner of rumour and counter rumour.
I personally don't want Brown. Nice guy, but I think his appointment would be more on Deano trying to tie up old connections rather than taking him on merit, (especially as we may have to pay up money we can ill afford).
Deanos habit of looking backwards all the time isn't healthy.

We were told an announcement would be made over a week ago....... not that I am in any rush but just another example of pure BS that comes our way.
I do find it interesting that mangers from places like Northampton etc. have no interest in joining our supposedly Big Club. They would rather stay with basically a pub 11 team than join us.....that says a lot about the state we are in.

Absolutely no need to appoint anybody until this fiasco of a season is over.
Then and only then do we need someone in place to organise for next season.
There will be a good number of managers on the dole pre-season.
So why rush to appoint one now?

Amazed that Sheridan's name hasn't been very much in the frame from the start.
He's really rejuvenated Oldham and is an ex-player.
Usually enough to get plenty of backing.

Think they're waiting on Brown situation at Southend. Can see him activating his release clause. Give it a fortnight and he will be here.MartinBWFC wrote:Absolutely no need to appoint anybody until this fiasco of a season is over.

Think this is just a way of diverting attention. Would be surprised if he got the job
