Bolton Wanderers Football Club can confirm that all seating areas of Macron Stadium will remain open for all home league fixtures during the 2016/17 season.

The club does not underestimate how important season ticket seats are to our supporters in all areas of Macron Stadium. The club remains committed to retaining as many season ticket holders as possible for the 2016/17 campaign.

Supporters should be aware that the club’s matchday ticketing sales efforts will be focussed on trying to fill the lowers tiers to create the best atmosphere possible in the stadium.

In addition, the club can also confirm that the annual Select Your Seat day will take place on Sunday 3 July for season ticket holders wishing to relocate their seats. This day of exclusivity will be for those supporters who purchase their season tickets by June 30.

This will allow upper tier season ticket holders who have renewed the opportunity to relocate to the lower tier if they wish.

Season tickets are available to purchase at the club’s eTicketing website, over the phone by calling 0844 871 2932 or by visiting Bolton Central in person.

Dates for your diary
June 12: Early purchase deadline and 10-month Direct Debit sign-up deadline
June 30: Seat renewal deadline and 9-month Direct Debit sign-up deadline
July 1-3: Season ticket sales frozen
July 3: Select Your Seat day (Exclusive day for supporters who have purchased a season ticket and wish to relocate their seat)

See? After all that fuss over nothing. Easy to sort out with a bit of responsive communication.

Good-I'm glad that they've done this. In other contributions  on other threads  those who've asked for this have been referred to as bellends, wankers and selfish twats by a certain hermaphrodite or person of uncertain gender . But I'm glad that the club has seen sense on this issue

"Supporters should be aware that the club’s matchday ticketing sales efforts will be focussed on trying to fill the lowers tiers to create the best atmosphere possible in the stadium."

Actually, while I think it would have been sensible to close the upper tiers on a pure cost basis I suppose this could also be seen as a signal that the club is confident they can sell enough tickets to offset it and if they're right then fantastic. Personally I'm far from certain we're going to see the sort of gates to do that regularly but at least they're willing to try and make it happen.

I don't remember any part of Burnden Park being closed during the dark days of the eighties, even when more people sit in the upper tiers now than sat in the whole ground back then.

It was a stupid idea, the club was right to knock it on the head.
