Tomorrow is the last day of December and I am currently going for a hat trick of monthly wins.

The leaderboard is as follows:

RT £ 17.37

StB £ £9.00

ML £ £6.57

BotC £3.00.

Only a decent priced winner will be enough to dethrone me. I will put my selection in early to give you a head start.

Lovely Muck 2.10 Uttoxeter.

Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone on here bet on football?

For the last few weekends me and a few family members have decided to do a few bets on football instead of the lottery. not won much but it's a bit more fun than picking numbers out.

I have a bet every time I go to the Reebok. I lost £30 on Saturday. I had a tenner on us winning 2-1 and £20 on us drawing 1-1.

Tomorrow I am going to take a punt on a 0-0 draw. It's pot luck and I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a few quid to spare.

We never bet anything serious, just a couple of pounds each on 4 teams.

I've stopped even betting on Bolton either way recently.

My bets tomorrow are £3.30 on -

Stoke draw with city

United to beat Wigan

Spurs to beat Reading

Arsenal to beat Southampton

I usually do a footy bet on the weekend, had £10 accumulator on Spurs, Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool all to win, returned £183

I reckon you have a decent four timer there. I have a sneaky feeling that the only one that might bite you on the arse is Spurs v Reading. I can see Reading getting a draw 1-1.

Aye Spurs are an odd team to bet on, look good most weekends but tend to have a poor game at home now and again.

The one that's bumped my winnings up is the Stoke draw at (4/1), it was (9/1) for a stoke win which is a very tempting one to go for.

The thing is with a multiple bet accumalator is that there is always one bloody team that will let you down and nine times out of ten it will be a bloody banker that you thought would be a dead cert!

It's the same with horse racing. You can have a lucky 15 which only costs £1.50 if you have 15 bets at 10p. You can have 3 winners and can be winning £20 or £30 depending on the odds and you have a dead cert in the last race but it always ends up bloody losing!

My weakness is gambling and I think Spurs could end up giving Reading a point but that is just my opinion.

I have started putting half my money on an accumalator and the other half on a yankee, don't get as much back but you only need 2 out of the 4 to get at least something back.

I see why gambling get's so addictive, I never really took the the lottery but this is very easy to get hooked on.

Well, whatever you do make sure you don't go chasing your losses. Only bet what you can afford to and if you start losing take a break until you are back in the black.

It can get quite addictive. I have seen people who will go for a night out and spend the whole time feeding a fruit machine. Once in a blue moon they will win a hundred quid but instead of putting it in their pocket they will continue playing with the winnings that they have just made.

Fruit machines are for mugs and should be avoided at all costs.

Too true RT, there is only one winner at the end of the day when betting with bookies is concerned.

One of the saddest sights I ever saw was about 4 years ago when I was in a bookies with my dad, there was a very attractive girl no older than me with a small pot filled with pound coins, there was at least £50 in the tub and she was just sat there feeding them into the machine losing on an electric roulette machine.
