The Bolton striker who only came on as a sub in 3 games last season has been picked to represent Great Britain at the Olympics games in London, Stuart Pearce has only picked 3 strikers for the tournament, one of them over the age restriction, Craig Bellamy. The two others both had spells at Wanderers, Daniel Sturridge a great talent to say the least... And then surprisingly Marvin Sordell. Sordell didn't have a chance at the Wanderers last season after signing in January for a fee of around £3million, but it's clear he is a good player, he has impressed at Watford and he's played 7 games scoring 2 goals for the under 23-s England squad, now he wouldn't be picked for this event if he wasn't a good player...
On the last day against Stoke when he came on as a sub he suddenly became our best, lively player creating chances running at the opposition, but it was all a little too late, maybe if he'd seen Sordells talent before this game it could have been a different story.
Now, all we need is him to shine at the Olympics and hopefully earn a place alongside Super Kev or N'Dog... Or maybe even Tom Eaves who knows? And I think he has all the credentials to be our leading star man
