Terrible news. Is there no end to the wanton bloodshed? Turkey rely heavily on tourism and the more attacks there are, the less likely that Europeans will go there for holidays. Egypt is already suffering from seriously reduced numbers. Only Thomas Cook fly from Manchester to Hurghada now.

I've been to Turkey once and flew into Istanbul. I've never been since, and now it's far too close to the front line to contemplate the mither.

Even if they don't we've spent 1.2 billion pounds of taxpayers money to speed up the accession of multiple counties.
an ungodly waste of finances.

Why spend taxpayers money then.
the fact that they don't believe Turkey will ever join the EU makes it worse.

They haven't, the payments would have been made over a 7 year period partly in way of aid contributions towards the refugees Turkey has taken (which came out of our 0.7% budget).
Yet another lie told by leave, which anybody could go and check themselves with ease.

The EU is giving Turkey 4.5 billion euros to help it make "reforms" (this is to help it join the EU obviously) and we contributed 23 million pounds a day last year.
we commit 0.7% on aid, this has nothing to do with our overall contribution to the EU.

The EU signed a deal to give Turkey €3 billion euros (of which we'd have contributed £250m) to support Syrian refugees there and try and stop the flow to Greece. Our contribution counted towards our 0.7% aid commitment. Considering the pathetic numbers this government have taken in contributing financially is the least we could do.
You may be getting mixed up with the €4.5 billion euros the EU committed to Turkey (alongside other states including Albania, Serbia and Montonegro) in 2014 as part of the their development fund paid over a 7 year period. Why is encouraging political reformation a bad thing?
