A strong field and half of the year still left.

My personal top three so far are:

!. The Brexit campaign obviously. So many to choose from but we are going to spend £350m a week extra on the NHS just edges out Turkey is joining the EU and we don't have a veto.

2. Tony Blair. What WMD?

3. Lady Green (wife of Sir Philip Green). In a letter to MPs she explained that setting up companies in tax havens had nothing to do with tax. "My understanding is that jurisdictions such as Jersey and the British Virgin Islands are commonly preferred for their strong regulatory regimes and well-respected regulators and the size and competence of their professional communities." She has also previously explained that she moved to Monaco (zero rate income tax) because of the need to provide a good education for her children.

Michael Gove mate, it just has to be him.

"David Cameron is my friend".

"I have no intention of standing for the Leadership because I am not PM material."
"I shall never be and do not want to be Prime Minister, I believe others are much better suited to that role especially my friend Boris."

"I wanted Boris to lead and to build a strong team that would stand behind him."

I'm genuinely astonished to learn his full name isn't Michael Judas Brutus Tony Blair-Gove.

For me it's The Sun newspaper which along with the Daily Mail has been the main driving force behind Brexit.

Obviously they care more about selling sensationalism than having any kind of moral standpoint. Xenophobic tat lapped up by an eager population.

Even the Sun is backing off now though. Here is their guide to what Brexit means to you.

The Sun NOW writes: the value of our houses will tumble encouraging foreign buyers, holiday prices will rocket, businesses will "be badly hit", "motorists could face much higher petrol prices", mortgage costs will go up by up to £1000 a year, State pensions will be hit and inflation is on it's way so expect to pay more in the shops.

Seeing as Murdoch's other less popular paper pointed all these things out before the referendum it just goes to show the complete lack of moral fibre these corporate wankers who control the minds of Little Britain have. Only now - when it's perhaps too late - is the Leave campaigns' biggest media partner backpedalling like there's no tomorrow. Ditto the Daily Fail.

There have been plenty of liars this year but only the Sun has the requisite circulation to influence a nation to top itself.

I can't bring myself to click on that link and read their bollocks out of principle.

I don't suppose there's an apologetic editorial comment anywhere in there to the effect of: "We're sorry for getting it so wrong and telling you all to vote Leave" is there?

I don't think Murdoch does apologies and anyway he doesn't live in the UK so it's not his problem.

There are however a few words which vaguely suggest that things might get better at some time in the future but they are very tempered and full of caveats compared to the jingoistic nonsense the Sun and Fail were spouting before the referendum despite being responsible for currying a negative attitude towards Europe.

When I first did media training I was advised to read the Sun because it influences "the mood of the country" and that's why more people from socio-economic A and B groups (posh/rich people) read the Sun than any other newspaper including the Gurniad and the Telegraph - to keep track of "the mood". The Sun's sales just go to show what successful journalism looks like.

If you think you have liars there, you should cross the pond and see what whoppers are told by our leading candidates for President.  Too bad noses don't really grow when you tell a lie, or both would be crossing the pond with their snozzes.

Murdoch is too busy trying to raise a lob to give a flying about out else.
