Phil Parkinson knows he will have to contend with plenty of transfer speculation this summer.
With Rob Holding attracting attention from the Premier League, Mark Davies getting admiring glances from clubs in the Championship and, most recently, Darren Pratley linked with a move to QPR, the new boss admits it isn’t the ideal preparation for a new season.
The transfer window has 54 days before it closes until the winter and Parkinson is expecting more business to be done in both directions.
But he has asked his players to keep their focus and not be distracted by the headlines.
“We’re not in an ideal situation and there might be movement in and out – but all we can concentrate on is making sure we come in each day and the standard of training is good,” he said.
“We’ll be open and honest with any players if we get a phone call about them.
"I have chatted to a number of them since we have been here and said they will just have to focus on what they can do here to improve the club.”
