Bonce, please could you explain something to a non gambling idiot. 

You bet £1 on a horse that wins at 6/1.

You get your £6 winnings plus your quid back which makes a total of £7. That's how it works with the bookies is it not? 

So, that being said, where does a profit of £7.50 come from? 

I'm sure you are correct and obviously know what you're on about here being a gambling man yourself, just looking for some clarification.

£1 ew on a 6/1 = £7 for the win + £2.50 place money. Total £9.50

Take away your original stake of £2,and you have your profit,£7.50

Gets messy when you get prices like 85/40. Very Happy
