Jay Spearing has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award for August.
An ever-present in the league for Phil Parkinson's side so far this season, the midfielder has also been Wanderers' stand-in skipper for the majority of the month after captain Darren Pratley suffered a long-term injury on the opening day of the campaign.
With the Whites currently sitting top of the League One table, Spearing has caught the eye with his performances for Bolton in the heart of the midfield while he also scored winners in both the Trotters' opening day win over Sheffield United and away victory at Bristol Rovers.
Also nominated for the award are Steve Morison (Millwall), Josh Morris (Scunthorpe United) and Nathan Smith (Port Vale).
The winner will be announced on Friday morning.
