Our next up and coming game is against Oldham Athletic at the Macron.

Oldham are currently sitting in 21st position having only won 2 games so far this season whilst we are currently in 5th.

Here are some stats for you all...

The last 5 league meetings between both clubs (most recent first):

Oldham 0-0 Bolton
Bolton 3-1 Oldham
Oldham 3-1 Bolton
Bolton 2-2 Oldham
Oldham 3-1 Bolton

Oldham Athetic's last 5 league results (most recent first):

Gillingham 1-2 Oldham
Oldham 0-2 MK Dons
Charlton 1-1 Oldham
Oldham 0-2 Swindon
Coventry 0-0 Oldham

Surely this is one of those easy win games? Then again we never make it easy!

How do you all think we will do against the Latics?

This has got to be a 3 pointer for me. My prediction: 2-1.

Ref watch: Carl Boyeson to oversee Oldham local derby

Carl Boyeson will oversee Bolton Wanderers’ clash with local-rivals with Oldham Athletic on Saturday.

The East Yorkshire-based official has previously run the rule over seven Whites matches in the past, including last season's home draws with Nottingham Forest and Brentford.

Involved in the professional game for the past 15 seasons, Mr Boyeson has officiated nine games so far this season, handing out 31 yellow cards and no red cards.

He last oversaw an Oldham game meanwhile when the Latics hosted Middlesbrough in the Capital One Cup last August.

Alf Greenwood and Gareth Mellor will run the line, while Graham Salisbury is the fourth official.

Slightly worried about the lack of goals but we are back to winning ways and look solid in defence. Got a feeling Clough will liven up, expecting a goal or two from him.

3-1 to us

Boggers, ever since he came back from his last ban he just can't pack it in.

If he knew how to control himself a bit more and stop the shit then he would still be here.

I put a lot of effort into this place for the good of everyone but it's beginning to hurt the site mate.

If it carries on then there won't be a forum where everyone can enjoy anymore and the would be shit.

Preview: Five talking points ahead of Bolton Wanderers v Oldham Athletic

1. Local derby
Having already faced local-rivals Blackpool, Fleetwood Town and Rochdale so far this season, Saturday's game presents another derby clash for Wanderers as they host Oldham Athletic at BL6.

The two sides haven't clashed competitively since an FA Cup encounter in January 2005, while the last time they met in the league came back in April 1997.

Boasting the superior record in this fixture with 26 victories to Oldham's 14, the Whites will be eager to come out on top and claim local bragging rights as they prepare to reacquaint themselves with the Latics.

2. Oldham's first visit to Macron Stadium
With Bolton last hosting Oldham back in October 1996, this weekend's clash also marks the Latics' first ever visit to Macron Stadium.

The Trotters ran out 3-1 winners in the last clash between the two sides at Burnden Park thanks to goals from Michael Johansen and a John McGinlay brace.

After losing their unbeaten home record in the league against Oxford United at the start of the month, Wanderers will be keen to deliver in front of their home fans this time around.

And with local-bragging rights up for grabs, the Whites will be looking to ensure they come out on top as the two sides meet at BL6 for the first time.

3. Away following
Oldham are expecting to bring over 1,500 travelling fans on Saturday, with their fans also able to buy tickets on the day.

Despite a slow start to the season, the Latics clinched a late victory over Gillingham in their last outing.

And with the visitors eager to maintain momentum coming into this weekend's meeting, the scene is set for another special atmosphere at Macron Stadium.

4. The league winless run is over
After ending their eight-game winless run against Blackpool in the Checkatrade Trophy, Bolton followed it up with another 1-0 victory last weekend away at Swindon Town as they returned to winning ways in Sky Bet League One.

Now coming into Saturday's game off the back of not only successive victories, but successive clean sheets as well, the Trotters will be hopeful for another positive showing as they look to ensure that last month's blip is now firmly behind them.

5. No new injury concerns
Manager Phil Parkinson confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Wanderers have no new injury concerns heading into Saturday's outing.

The gaffer is hopeful that James Henry will be fit to feature having limped off against Swindon last week, while he confirmed that Max Clayton has completed a full week of training but is not yet ready to return.

With the Whites' injury list beginning to shorten, competition for places is set to get stronger than ever as Bolton continue to welcome players back into the first team reckoning.

Scouting report: Oldham Athletic

SEASON SO FAR…

Having plied their trade in the third tier of English football for almost two decades, Oldham Athletic will be hopeful that they can make their mark on Sky Bet League One this term.

With a number of bottom-half league finishes under their belts in recent years, the Latics haven’t finished higher than tenth in the past seven seasons – form which has meant that they have become part of the furniture in this division.

A tag that Athletic will be aiming to shake off sooner rather than later, they haven’t exactly started the current campaign in scintillating form and with 12 games played, have collected the same number of points.

But despite currently occupying the final relegation spot as they sit in 21st in the table, they will be buoyed by the fact that one victory could see them rise up to mid-table given the proximity of teams in the league at present.

Having also lifted themselves off the foot of the table courtesy of a 2-1 away win at Gillingham last weekend, Steve Robinson’s side will make their first ever visit to Macron Stadium this afternoon eager to continue their form on their travels.

In fact, they are unbeaten on the road in five outings in all competitions while outside of their league exploits, they reached the second round of the Capital One Cup before while in their Checkatrade Trophy campaign, they currently have three points to their name ahead of the final round of group fixtures.

THE MANAGER: STEVE ROBINSON
An experienced and highly regarded coach, Steve Robinson linked up with Oldham back in July from Motherwell having recently been the first team coach with Northern Ireland in France during Euro 2016.

As a player, he figured most prominently for AFC Bournemouth and Luton Town alongside stints with Tottenham Hotspur, Leyton Orient, Preston North End and Bristol City.

Also gaining seven international caps for Northern Ireland, Robinson made the transition into coaching after retiring with his homeland and their Under 16s.

Quickly gaining a reputation as a talented coach, he continued to work his way up through the ranks with Northern Ireland before being appointed first team coach in the current set up under Michael O’Neill.

Helping the team reach the last 16 of Euro 2016 just a matter of months ago meanwhile, Robinson made the switch to English football just three months ago with Boundary Park his latest port of call.

KEY PLAYER: BILLY MCKAY
A man who has scored goals at each and every club he has figured for, Northern Ireland international frontman Billy McKay made the move to Sky Bet League One with Oldham on a season-long loan from parent club Wigan Athletic.

The striker actually started his foray into the game meanwhile with Leicester City as a youngster, turning professional at the King Power Stadium in 2007.

He moved to Northampton Town after a loan spell with Hinckley Town, enjoying two seasons with the Cobblers before moving north of the border with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

His three-and-a-half year spell with the Scottish outfit proved to be a successful one, with him featuring heavily ahead of his move to the DW Stadium last January.

However, he returned to Scotland last summer, signing for Dundee United on a season-long loan deal before moving to the Latics on a similar deal in July.

LAST OLDHAM ATHLETIC XI (v Gillingham, W 1-2)
