Following confirmation of his arrival at Macron Stadium on loan until the end of the season, bwfc.co.uk

  1. Christopher Michael Long was born in Huyton, Liverpool, on February 25, 1995.

  2. After representing Huyton at schoolboy level, he initially joined Everton’s academy set-up as a five-year-old in 2000 and remained there until the summer of 2015.

  3. He scored his first senior goal on his professional debut when on loan for MK Dons against Shrewsbury Town – a game which the Dons won 3-2 in January 2014.

  4. Rising up through Everton’s youth ranks, he was handed his debut following his return to Merseyside in the Toffees’ Europa League clash against Krasnodar in December 2014, coming on as an 80th minute substitute.

  5. While on the books at Goodison Park, he made his first appearance for England at Under-16 level and also figuring in their victorious 2010/11 Victory Shield campaign.

  6. In the years that followed, he played for the Three Lions at every level up to Under-20 and even figured in their 2013 World Cup squad alongside the likes of current Bolton loanee Tom Thorpe and full England internationals Eric Dier, Harry Kane, Jon Flanagan, John Stones and Ross Barkley.

  7. During his stay with Everton, Long was limited to just one senior appearance and saw his game time come in the form of loan spells with MK Dons and Brentford, scoring four goals in 11 appearances for the latter, three of which were from just two starts.

  8. Signing for Burnley in the summer of 2015, Long made 11 appearances for the Clarets last season as they won promotion to the Premier League as Championship winners.

  9. During a loan stint at Fleetwood Town in the first half of the current campaign, the 21-year-old notched four times in 15 league starts.

  10. The forward has already figured against Wanderers twice this season at Macron Stadium – once in a pre-season friendly against Burnley and the other during the Cod Army’s visit to BL6 in August.
