Liam Trotter was delighted to mark his return to the Wanderers starting XI with a goal as Phil Parkinson's side thrashed Walsall on Saturday.
Having fallen behind early on, a devastating comeback ensured the Whites returned to winning ways as they clinched a 4-1 victory over the Saddlers at Macron Stadium.
And with Bolton next in action against Rochdale at BL6 on Tuesday night, the midfielder is targeting more of the same as the Trotters continue to challenge for promotion.
“It’s been a tough start to 2017," Trotter admitted to bwfc.co.uk. "A couple of results haven’t gone our way and a couple of performances haven’t been up to our standard, but today we got that win with a strong performance.
“The next two months are really important for us now. There are a lot of games and a lot of difficult fixtures in there so it was good to get that win today.
"We can now go into Tuesday confident and I’m hoping we can put in a similar performance to today.”
Trotter continued: “I’m happy to be back in the team and glad that it came when we got three points, it was good for me to be able to contribute.
"[3-5-2] is a good formation for midfielders who like to get forward and support someone like Gaz [Madine] who played really well today. All afternoon he was knocking the ball down for us to run on to and that’s what happened with my goal.
“It’s always difficult to not be involved, I was in the team playing well and then I got injured. I then came out the team and then wasn’t involved so it was difficult to take.
"Sometimes you have to roll with the punches and bide your time. I don’t see today as redemption, I see it as I was in the team and the team won.
"I was happy with my performance so everything went well.”
