KEN Anderson is optimistic that Wanderers will be out of the transfer embargo in time to do business this summer.
Writing in his regular column, the Whites chairman confirmed that talks were planned with BluMarble finance, the company who provided Dean Holdsworth with the funding to complete the takeover last March.
The high interest loan, secured against club assets, has been the subject of much concern in the last 12 months. But as he continues to complete a deal to acquire Holdsworth’s shares in the club, Anderson has assured supporters that the financial issues currently preventing the Football League from lifting the embargo will be remedied.
“I have scheduled in a meeting with BluMarble and I am confident that a satisfactory outcome will be achieved with the target being to have us out of the embargo and ready for the summer transfer window,” he said. Anderson described Wanderers’ 500-strong travelling support at Oxford United for Tuesday night’s televised game as “phenomenal”
“It underlines the pride and passion you have for the club,” he added. “We will be backed once again by a large travelling support for the games against Shrewsbury Town and Scunthorpe United where we have sold out of our initial allocations.
“Looking ahead to the weekend, it is important that we only focus on the next match in hand and to ensure that the momentum we have built up recently is maintained. It is crucial to keep this level of intensity going and the spirit and desire within the team to succeed.”
Wanderers have secured an extra 544 tickets for next month’s trip to Scunthorpe which go on sale to season ticket holders at 10am today. The initial allocation of 1,600 was snapped up in less than 24 hours.
