BONUSES for Wanderers’ promotion to the Championship were not paid into players’ salary packets on Friday, The Bolton News understands.
Players reported to Lostock yesterday to be told their payments would be late – and some members of Phil Parkinson's squad who finished last season out on loan received no salary payment at all.
Wanderers beat the odds and a transfer embargo to finish runner-up in behind Sheffield United in League One, which triggered a reward at the end of their yearly contract. And although Wanderers vowed to rectify the situation by Monday morning, the news has not been well-received in the camp.

Non-playing staff were not affected and were paid as normal.
We have learned Jamie Proctor’s move to Rotherham United has been put on hold until the payment is issued.
The 25-year-old spent time at Carlisle United last season. He has trained this week with the Millers and underwent a medical on Thursday but the £75,000 deal which had been lined-up will not go through until the debt has been settled.
Chris Taylor also falls into the same category, having spent the last few months of the campaign at Oldham Athletic.
News of the salary issues coincided with the eagerly-awaited announcement of Will Buckley’s signing on a two-year deal.
The former Brighton wide man arrives at the Macron after a disappointing spell at Sunderland. But Phil Parkinson reckons his release at the Stadium of Light could work in Wanderers’ favour.
“It’s a great move for us,” he told The Bolton News. “It ticks a lot of boxes because he has good experience in the Championship and as far as free transfers go, he was right at the top of this bracket.
“It’s great to get him in because we feel he has got a lot to give Bolton Wanderers.”
Buckley was rejected by the Whites as a 15-year-old but made his name at Rochdale before moving his way up the Football League ladder.
A £2.65million move to Sunderland in 2014 did not go according to plan, however, with the 27-year-old making just 24 appearances in three seasons.

Slow news day. The club says it will be dealt with by Monday so not much need for the Bolton News to be raking up rubbish like this.

Exactly.

I know Iles has column inches to fill but he could have presented this story in a much less 'sensational' way, particularly because there is little if nothing sensational about it - they are we are told by Iles, simply going to be paid a day late!

Iles does himself no favours at all imo.

For example two non stories featuring the ST (Safe standing - not going to be happening this season if ever, and the return of the Fan Zone - can't see it happening at all myself) yet not one single story over the resignation of there former Chairman or the appointment of the new one!

So on the surface according to him we have a club failing to pay players and a honky dory ST.

You can see why some/many question his reporting credentials.

KA will not put his money into the pot until DeanO and SportsShield are gone. Of course, this will make for a long season with disgruntled players and the financial oversight still in place.  That being said, I don't blame KA for holding tight until he has control.  I just hope he is being honest and his tattered reputation from the past stays in the past.

This is worrying:
The report also claims that players and management were shocked to find out that a promotion pot of £500,000 earned from last season has gone missing, meaning chairman Ken Anderson is once again under pressure to deliver.
The players have reportedly got in touch with the PFA, and look set to pursue both issues until a resolution is reached.

How do you "lose" half a million?

Half a million hasnt gone missing.  The payments for promotions and where you finished (prize money?) Doesnt get paid until later.  The same people will be moaning when KA takes his cash back out of it after he fronted it in the first place
