Having seen him play twice in the flesh and countless clips i am gutted. Hopefully we have an option on getting him back but i doubt it. This is another one that will come back to bite us

Clough was small too (5ft 6inch) and although he does have lovely touch on the ball I don't think he will ever come to terms with the physical side of the game.

I think Samizadeh will probably be the same.
Messi is 5ft 7

Messi is one in a generation.

I would think much bigger clubs than Kilmarnock would have been lining up for his services if he was even half as good as Messi.

The point was you cant write a striker of because of his height.  Rooney, Fowler is just one inch bigger than Samizadeh @ 5ft 9.  Jermaine Defoe 5ft 7, Michael Owen is 5ft 8 - so that's half of the top 10 all time Premier League strikers of a similar height.

Actually I didn't write him off because of his height.

If you read what I posted again, you will see that I actually wrote that I didn't think he would comes to terms with the physical side of the game.

If you read what you wrote you will see you very much focussed on his height as well as Clough's height.

I'm not saying he is anything amazing, or the next premier league top 10 striker, but clearly height has naff all to do with it.

I might be getting on a bit but I can still remember what I wrote thank you.

I certainly commented upon the height of Samizadeh and Clough, but the focus of what I said - and the point I actually made - was about the physical side of the game and how in my opinion I didn't think they would cope. -

And that is why I said this -

So I'm not at all sure of what point you are making as we both agree his height isn't his problem?

I think perhaps you may have read something into my first post than what was ever actually there.

The Kilmarnock Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Alex Samizadeh.

The 18-year-old started his youth career with National League North side, Curzon Ashton. During his time at the Tameside Stadium, Iranian born Alex had a loan spell at Manchester City.
Whilst at Bolton Wanderers, Alex boasted a competitive scoring record at Under-18s and Under-23s level, which included netting four goals in an emphatic 6-1 victory against QPR last season.
The forward made two first-team appearances at the Macron Stadium, before signing a one-year contract at Rugby Park.
Everyone at Kilmarnock FC welcomes Alex to Rugby Park and wishes him the best of luck for the season.

He came on as a sub for Kilmarnock with 20 minutes to go in the Scottish League Cup against Ayr on Friday night. Ayr beat them 1-0 which was somewhat of an upset because of their respective league positions. He didn't look small on TV. Quite stocky actually.

Once he'd played for Chorley he couldn't take the step backwards to Bolton so fooked off to Scotland.

True, they showed him the promised land, then sent him back to bloody Bolton.

I am gutted he didn't stay, but the powers that be didn't think he was ready for a pro contract, so we just have to trust them. I will definitely be looking out for him now, while hoping he doesn't score a shed full

I've not seen him play so it's hard to judge but from everything I've read he's been banging in goals for fun at every level so far so surely should have been given a proper chance. I think this a money decision rather than a footballing one. The lad wanted a proper pro contract, and given his record you can't blame him. Think we'll regret this one.
