Phil Parkinson insists the goals will flow for Adam Armstrong in a Wanderers shirt.
The on-loan Newcastle United striker has scored twice in the League Cup this season but has failed to open his account in the Championship in 12 attempts.
Armstrong came to the Macron with a decent record, having netted 26 times in the past two seasons with Barnsley and Coventry City.
Parkinson is confident, however, that the 20-year-old will find his shooting boots soon.
“I think it will come,” he told The Bolton News. “Every week he has chances. Last week he went clean through, the keeper makes a save and we score from a corner. I think he’s had about six or seven shots there, which is good.
“He’s a player who has scored at league level, had a great run at Coventry, scored goals at Barnsley last year but he’s doing a great job for us out on the left side, you have to give him some credit for that.
“His discipline and tactical awareness is very good and I am confident the goals will come.”
Armstrong had five attempts at goal in the 1-1 draw with Fulham, and Parkinson was content his new-look front line, which also includes the fit-again Sammy Ameobi and Josh Vela, are settling in at this level of football.
“Adam was a threat, our whole attack looked a threat,” he said. “I think they looked just as good as Fulham’s attacking players.
“They have spent millions and millions on their squad. We know where ours have come from.
“It is good that the lads are growing into this division.”
Ameobi had to leave the field with cramp in the second half at Craven Cottage, which could open the door for Will Buckley to make a return against his former employers tonight.
“We didn’t have Will in the squad because we thought it was more important he train,” Parkinson added. “But he’ll be in the mix.”
