WANDERERS striker Gary Madine was arrested following an incident on Friday.
The club has confirmed the striker was detained by police on Friday night in the Birtley, in Gateshead near Newcastle, where he was born and grew up.
The Bolton News understands no further action will be taken but is currently awaiting confirmation.
In a statement on the club's website, chairman Ken Anderson said : "Off the pitch, we are aware of the situation which has been reported in the media this morning regarding Gary Madine and although we believe that no further action is being taken by the authorities, we will be looking at the matter through our own processes."
