Pretty much got fed up with it all and the fun has definitely worn off for him here which isn't a surprise TBH.boltonbonce wrote:Did he give no explanation? Or has he finally got pissed off with the goings on around here?karlypants wrote:He's gone unfortunately Bonce.

I upgraded to El Capitan last week (as I was told I had to do it first before going on to High Sierra). I didn't want to do it as I was happy with my 2009 Snow Leopard system but some of the less common functionality stopped working so was advised to upgrade the OS. It took three hours to download but double that to sort out all my apps and Logic files which needed to convert format. I still haven't converted some of the stuff I wrote a few years back. Consequently I'm a bit reticent about going for High Sierra now.Cajunboy wrote:Been upgrading my iMAC today to High Sierra, it's taken 7 hours altogether.
I thought it would never end.
I've got three Macs. Are the file formats the same?
Do any of the apps need to upgrade at the same time?
Are any of the app upgrades chargeable?
Is there a specific reason for wanting to upgrade to HS?
Any advice that would inform me on the decision to upgrade now or wait until stuff starts failing again greatly appreciated.
BTW where is Johnny? Didn't really have him down as a snowflake. Hope he's well.
Cheers amigo - although it is a bit of a pain in the bottom.boltonbonce wrote:I've got three Macs. As far as I'm concerned,a a fully updated computer,is a secure computer.
A Mac,of course,is a lot safer than a Windows machine,but you can't be too careful.
If I were you Lusty,I'd upgrade as soon as possible, however long it takes. When it's done,it'll offer you a tour of what's new.
As for Johnny,I'm told he simply got fed up with the back biting. I'm missing him already. Unless he comes back, the place won't seem the same.
Still, plenty of fake accounts taking up the slack.
