Bolton Wanderers’ Under-18s bounced back to winning ways in some style with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over their Sheffield United counterparts on Saturday.
The Whites started brightly and were attacking from the off, with them creating early chances for Matty Barnes, Luca Navarro and Cameron Moore.
On the 20 minute mark however, the deadlock was broken at pace as Barnes linked up well with the aforementioned Navarro who fired the ball home from outside the box.
And Bolton’s second followed soon after, with Barnes seeing his own shot saved, only for Mason Birch to follow up and make no mistake with the rebound.
Confidence was oozing for the Whites and their third arrived as, from a set-play, Moore pulled the ball back for Birch to score and double his own tally for the day.
In the second half of the clash, Wanderers continued to dominate in possession and following some good football, their fourth goal came as, after some excellent link-up play between Navarro and Birch, the former again scored from distance to put gloss on the result for the home side.
Wanderers: James, Moulden, Edmondson, Smith, Hartsthorne, Preston, Moore, Fearnley, Barnes, Birch, Navarro
Substitutes: Politic, Darcy, Connell, Broughton, Comber
