Hi Jeff welcome to Nuts
There's more chance of me playing upfront than Parky playing 2 strikers, he'll stick with the 4231 we've played recently i reckon.

Hello and welcome Jeff.
I think that we will do well to avoid a battering so I can't see two up front and can imagine a 4-5-1 system like you sort of suggested.
I've written off this an the Wolves game and just hope we keep the score down as Goal Difference might be important to us come the end of the season.
I've turned your post into the match thread, I hope you don't mind.

I mind. It’s terrible grammar

Expecting the usual from Parky, but maybe he'll give Kirchhoff a start and Obasi might make the bench. Also suspect Wheater may be involved.
Tactically I'm expecting the usual 10 minute bid for a lead followed by getting pushed deeper and deeper as Villa get into the game and if we're losing narrowly he'll throw the kitchen sink at it for the last 15 minutes.
Mods Could you retitle the thread to something less generic e.g. BWFC v Villa?

As long as we can read and understand what anyone posts, we aren't too fussed about the spelling or grammar.
I can't claim to be great at either myself!

Welcome to Nuts Jeff. I'd bite your hand off for a point, but I fear the worst. Might be an idea to chuck Obasi in at the deep end,and see if he floats.

They stuffed Wolves, but that slip up at home aginst QPR does offer a little hope. Didn't expect us to beat Cardiff,so surprises happen. Here's hoping.Boggersbelief wrote:I don’t fear Villa one bit. I think we’ll win comfortably

Preview: Five talking points ahead of Wanderers v Aston Villa
Following on from last weekend's draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, Wanderers are back in action at Macron Stadium this Saturday as they host Aston Villa.
And with the Trotters keen to bounce back to winning ways on home soil after defeat to Preston here last time out, bwfc.co.uk highlights five talking points ahead of Bolton's clash with the Villans.
1. Live on Sky Sports
The last time Wanderers appeared on Sky Sports was when they hosted Bristol City at Macron Stadium on February 2, where a sensational second-half goal from Sammy Ameobi saw the Whites run out 1-0 winners in front of millions watching at home.
Can Phil Parkinson's men impress once again in front of the Sky cameras? The gaffer will certainly be hoping for a case of deja vu this weekend as we head into the final furlong of the campaign.
2. Community Fixture
The Saturday’s clash with Aston Villa has been designated as the club’s official Community Fixture for the 2017/18 season.
Wanderers will also be donating £5 from each adult ticket sold in the Carrs Pasties North Stand to the club's designed charity partners who are Derian House Children’s Hospice, Zak Vali Foundation, Daytrippers Bolton, Urban Shift and The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumor Charity.
The aim of the day is to bring Bolton family together by inviting charities, community groups and individuals to BL6 for the Trotters' latest fixture, alongside hosting a special half-time parade.
3. Strong home form
Wanderers have proven a tough nut to crack in recent months on home soil and have only lost two of their last 13 games at Macron Stadium in the Sky Bet Championship, with defeats to Burton Albion in December and Preston North End earlier this month the only blemishes to their record.
With the end of the campaign in sight meanwhile and just five games left at BL6 between now and the final game of the season on May 6, the Whites will be eager to put their reverse against the Lilywhites last time out here behind them and kick-on inside the closing stages of 2017/18.
4. Competition for places
Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson confirmed in his pre-match press conference that captain Darren Pratley will be assessed ahead of Saturday’s game having taken a knock in training earlier this week.
Should the skipper not be fit to feature meanwhile, there is certainly ample competition for places in the Bolton squad, particularly in midfield, with many players chomping at the bit to feature in this weekend's clash with the promotion-chasing Villans.
5. Late kick-off
Fans are reminded that Saturday’s game is a 5.30pm kick off with the game being televised live on Sky Sports.
Overseas-based iFollow BWFC subscribers meanwhile will not be able to watch the game live on the service as a result, but audio commentary will still be available.
Alternatively, updates will be available on the club's Twitter account, @OfficialBWFC, with a full match report available on bwfc.co.uk on the final whistle.

Ref watch: Robert Jones to oversee Aston Villa visit
Robert Jones will take charge of Wanderers’ televised Sky Bet Championship clash with Aston Villa at Macron Stadium on Saturday.
Mr Jones took part in his first season as a Football League referee last year, with his first Whites fixture coming back in January 2017 when Phil Parkinson's side hosted Charlton Athletic.
He has taken charge of 36 games so far this campaign, including Wanderers' 1-1 draw with Fulham at BL6 last month, dishing out 102 yellow card and eight red cards along the way.
Akil Howson and Jonathan Hunt will run the line, while Jeremy Simpson is the fourth official.

Can't see us getting anything but a spanking tomorrow after Villa's 4-1 thrashing against Wolves.
Edit: just seen that QPR won 3-1 last Tues night but still doubt we will get anything from this game.

i think Tuesday gives us a glimmer of hope, but hard to get the Preston game out of my mind, would take a draw but you never know, we beat Cardiff so it's not impossible. i think if the 3.00 kick off goes our way it becomes a free hit, if not then the pressure is on.

Agreed Wessy. If the lads have the incentive to push harder than usual, (at least for 15 minutes anyway), we might well come up with something. Still can't decide what will happen though.
