So Knight was on the pitch for the duration, we have three naturally left-footed players who were all left on the bench while we used right-footed players in their stead, our two young, speedy, dangerous forwards had to share time to allow the oldest and slowest player we have to play the entire game yet we not only kept a clean sheet, we bossed possesion and shots on goal and scored two! Bloody hell - Derby must be shite or Coyle is in fact a genius!

The team was booed off at half time because they were like watching paint dry. For the majority, the game felt no different to last season. Coyle thinks the brand of football that got us relegated would suddenly become effective against lesser opposition. He's mistaken.
Derby are crap - they have been an average-poor Championship side for years, they showed very little quality on the ball tonight, and we've scraped a win against them.
There is still zero fluency in our play despite now competing against Championship opposition, and not even the best of.

Kevin Davies did the business tonight. He won virtually everything all night and scored the crucial first goal. A deserved man of the match. Very happy with the points but hope we improve on Friday.

We played OK in the first half, there was not a lot of intensity from either side.

Why the fuck can't we pass the ball to each other? Why do we never have flowing moves that involve more than two players. Why can't we cross? Why can't we control a simple pass?

Coyle will no doubt harp on about the positives but anyone who thinks we have a chance in this league is dreaming. Teams like Blackpool will rip us apart.

Owen Coyle has turned us into the worst footballing team in England. I'd have Gary Megson back tomorrow.
