WANDERERS (4-2-3-1)
BEN ALNWICK…7
So unlucky to have picked up the injury. Arguably Wanderers’ most consistent customer this season – and such a shame that he did not see out the victory.
MARK LITTLE…7.5
Tiny blot on the copybook after the defending for Forest’s second but Little played like a warrior on his return to the team, and credit to him.
DAVID WHEATER…9
Came up with a goal after being thrown up front as an auxiliary striker and defended immaculately all day. Sign him up!
MARK BEEVERS…8
Defended well, particularly in the latter stages of the game. Has finished the season strongly and made a real case for a new contract.
ANTONEE ROBINSON…7
Everton loanee showed again why he has been such a smash hit since arriving at the Macron. Heart on sleeve, he chase everything down the left touchline.
DARREN PRATLEY…7
Got a great round of applause coming off the field, having sailed close to the wind on a yellow card. Pratley doesn’t do anything but 100 per cent effort.
KARL HENRY…8
So much more influential in the middle of the park than he had been in the last few games. Won the ball, played it simple and got under people’s skin.
FIL MORAIS…8
This is Morais’ first-ever Championship season but despite a few niggling injuries he has finished in as good a form as anyone. Gave everything to the cause.
JOSH VELA…8
His best game for some time. His love for the club was etched in every challenge he tracked down - but equally he showed for the ball, which has been missing.
SAMMY AMEOBI…7.5
Better. So much better. Not everything worked out for the winger but every time he touched the ball Wanderers fans felt like something could happen.
AARON WILBRAHAM…9
Roy of the Rovers stuff. A shock selection from the start, perhaps, but there was simply not a more worthy recipient of the fans’ praise.
Subs: Howard 7, 46 (for Alnwick) – One big save in the second half at 2-1.
Le Fondre 9, 59 (for Pratley) – Freaking heroic. Simple as.
Noone 77 (for Morais) – Chipped in at the end.
Not used: Taylor, Karacan, Buckley, Burke.
