We never had these problems before the publicly owned Forensic Science Service was privatised.

Prisons, Rail, military recruitment all privatised and all up the creek, but hang on we can chuck millions of taxpayers pounds at this continued negligence. Even catering in the services has been farmed out to Sodexo and what a load of crap they can serve up. No-one in any privatised sector has ever been called up to explain what they are doing and how the feck did they manage to dismantle efficient methods in such a short space of time. Gerram nationalised!

The review process is always the same. A loaded and biased review to demonstrate that privatisation/PFI saves money when experience shows it always leads to a poorer service and no net savings for the public. Of course it makes lots of money for the people who take on these contracts at no risk to themselves.

Privatisation works for organisations whose main concern is profit. Doesnt make sense for anything else for me, and i think the myth we can always trust the free market to improve quality of output has been signifcantly eroded.

There is a balance to be struck between public and private ownership but it is completely unbalance now. It started going wrong with rail privatisation. We have the world's most expensive fares, record levels of subsidy and a shit service but the rail companies make handsome profits of course.

I work in central Manchester and rely on the trains to get to and from.

It was bad enough a couple of years ago, but at the moment there's almost nobody in the office getting to work on time, and it's not just a few minutes here and there, it can be hours and it's happening to everyone. And that's just the outward journey.

There's talk that Northern are intentionally running the service into the ground with a view to selling on while avoiding fines for failure to provide service fit for purpose. Whether it sounds nonsensical or not, it definitely feels like some kinda shit along those lines is going on.

I go into the  Manchester office for work at least once a week but refuse to use the trains, I would rather get to the bus station for 7am then suffer the Bolton - Manchester train journey.I don't think i could put up with the 90 minute journey back by bus every day but once or twice a week is ok
The last time I used a train from Bolton to Manchester was 3 years ago on a Saturday afternoon in July and it was even an awful standing room only journey then.
The train service is supposed to just as shite out of London from Paddington.Even Tory train travellers voted in favour of renationalisation
