WANDERERS have completed a transfer coup by landing Norwich City winger Yanic Wildschut on a season-long loan.
The pacey Dutchman had been strongly linked with a return to Wigan Athletic for much of the summer but Phil Parkinson has stolen a march on them, and Championship rivals Ipswich Town, to make him the fifth new arrival at the Macron.
Wildschut had moved to Norwich for £7million in January last year but struggled to get regular football, making 25 appearances in all competitions and scoring three goals.
He moved on loan to Cardiff City in January this year and helped the Bluebirds secure promotion to the Premier League.
Wildschut moved to English football with Middlesbrough in 2014 but hit a golden streak at Wigan, scoring 14 goals in 50 games, to earn a big money move to Carrow Road.
A return to the DW Stadium was mooted but sources at the Latics claim manager Paul Cook switched targets after Bolton topped the financial package they were willing to offer.
Wildschut said: “It feels great to be here. I spoke to the manager this morning and he gave me a good feeling - he made me want to sign for Bolton Wanderers with what he said to me.
"I have been in England now for four years and I think I know how the league works. Hopefully I can help the club to have a very good season in 2018/19."
