Phil Parkinson’s side resume after a dramatic international break still handily placed in the Championship table and with just one defeat in their opening six games.
It appears likely, however, that the Bolton boss will have to change the side which drew at Preston North End last time out.
Taylor limped off in the second half at Deepdale with what is believed to be a thigh injury. The full-back has been treated over the international break but it is expected that Jonathan Grounds will come in on the left side of the defence as his replacement tomorrow.
Magennis picked up his injury whilst on international duty with Northern Ireland. The striker damaged his calf in training and missed out on the chance to collect a 38th cap for his country in the Nations League defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The club had initially been looking at a two-week lay-off for the former Charlton Athletic man but now harbour hope he could be back quicker than expected.
Whether QPR comes too early for Magennis remains to be seen - and that could mean Parkinson picks between handing Christian Doidge his debut after signing from Forest Green Rovers, or giving Clayton Donaldson his first start in the league.
“Fans haven’t really had a chance to see what Clayton can do yet,” Parkinson told The Bolton News. “We used his wide right from the start against Leeds United in the cup and he did really well for us but he’s itching to get into the team. We have certainly got better options now.”
Coming up against Wanderers are a QPR side in transit under ex-England boss Steve McClaren who could bring in Brighton striker Tomer Hemed and Burnley’s Nakhi Wells - both of whom were signed on deadline day - for their debuts in a new-look attack, which could also include target man Matt Smith.
McClaren is unbeaten in his last nine meetings with Bolton, a run which stems all the way back to the Carling Cup final in 2004 when he was in charge of Middlesbrough.
The Hoops have won just one out of six this season but Sammy Ameobi says Wanderers will be wary of over-confidence.
“We know full well there are no guaranteed wins in this division,” he said. “We want to continue our own run but we’ll have to earn everything against QPR. They haven’t had the best start but they have some dangerous players.”
