Bolton Wanderers are delighted to confirm the signing of Lloyd Dyer on a short-term deal.
The Birmingham-born star joins Phil Parkinson’s men having previously been on the books of Burton Albion for whom he netted 14 goals in 80 appearances.
The experienced wideman started his career with West Bromwich Albion in 2001 and enjoyed loan spells with Kidderminster Harriers, Coventry City and QPR before leaving the Hawthorns to join Millwall.
He enjoyed a two-year spell at MK Dons, where he found the back of the net on 16 occasions from 86 appearances.
He penned a three-year deal with Leicester City in 2008 and spent six seasons at the King Power Stadium before featuring for the likes of Watford, Birmingham City and Burnley.
Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson said: “We are pleased to welcome Lloyd to Bolton Wanderers.
“With Sammy’s injury lay off being longer than we first anticipated, it was important that we have more options.
“Lloyd’s experience of playing as a left wing back will give us more cover if we decide to play with a back three.”

Two weeks after facing imminent administration we are signing a player, wtf
He may be 36 but at least he knows where the back of the net is at the Reebok.

I wish this was 5 or 6 years ago, he was quality when he was at Leicester.I remember him scoring a cracker against us when Leicester got promoted to the Prem a few years ago.
Doesn't look too happy on the photo does he?

You'd be unhappy if Parky told you that you are playing left back. We don't like any pace or skill up front.

Yeah. Maybe one day in the distant future someone will invent a mute button.Nigelbwfc wrote:Annoying musicwanderlust wrote:He was quick once...
Seriously though, the technocrats should be looking into software whereby users can choose their own music for online videos etc by linking into their own collection and having default or pick options, not only from a taste perspective but for the dramatic effect and comedy potential.
Was surprised to read Dyer "turned down" a contract with Burton which implies he jumped as opposed to being pushed - a very brave move at his age if true.
Question is whether he left them to find someone desperate enough to give him more money than Burton or whether he considers himself to be too good for L1?

Fortunately, Burton can't afford a dodgy sound track and anyhoo this is a bit more recent...
