Wanderers slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday to remain in the Championship's relegation zone.
Tom Lees' header won the day for the Owls but Phil Parkinson's side deserved little after a lifeless second-half show.
How did the players rate? Read on.
WANDERERS (4-3-3)
BEN ALNWICK…6 Came to collect a few crosses, made a few clearances under pressure but there really wasn’t a lot on the Bolton keeper’s plate.
PAWEL OLKOWSKI…6.5 Yes, his crossing was not always up to scratch, but the Pole at least looked willing to drive forward and ask questions of the Wednesday defence.
JACK HOBBS…6 Back in the side for David Wheater, Hobbs is proving himself to be a safe pair of hands. Not placed under any great pressure but certainly not a disappointment.
MARK BEEVERS…6 Not quite the star show it was at Millwall, but another who can walk off the pitch with his reputation intact.
ANDY TAYLOR…6 Played it extremely safe, rarely venturing deep into Wednesday territory, but didn’t waste the ball so can’t have many complaints.
JASON LOWE…5 Nowhere near as effective as he had been at the weekend. Couldn’t get into the game at all.
MARC WILSON…4.5 Warranted another crack in midfield after a decent first half at Millwall but failed to get anything going in midfield.
JOE WILLIAMS…6 The only one of the three central players who looked to push forward. One excellent cross which should have been put away.
SAMMY AMEOBI…4.5 Struggled to get out of second gear. Wanderers need more from their one player with genuine X factor.
JOSH MAGENNIS…4.5 Hit a wall after the first half. Ran hard in the early stages but very little is going his way at the moment.
YANIC WILDSCHUT…4 Big chance for the Dutchman to prove he deserves a regular start. Might have got a penalty – but hard to make a case for him.
Subs: Doidge 5, 68 (for Magennis) – Couldn’t get him into the game
Donaldson 4, 69 (for Olkowski) – Massive miss. Could have been so different
Buckley 83 (for Wilson) – No real impact.
Not used: Matthews, Vela, Grounds, Wheater
Sheff Weds (3-5-2): Dawson; Lees, Hector, Thorniley; Baker, Pelupessy, Bannan, Reach, Penney; Fletcher, Matias.
Subs: Nuhiu 37 (for Fletcher), Forestieri 46 (for Penney), Joao 85 (for Matias)
Not used: Wildsmith, Fox, Onomah, Pudil
Referee: Gavin Ward (Hampshire) 7/10 – A stroll in the park for him.
Attendance: 20,861
