After the stress of potential administration, Phil Parkinson is looking forward to seeing out the season with relative freedom.
Wanderers are down but go to Blackburn Rovers today looking to minimise the damage a wretched campaign does to the record books.
Parkinson revealed he expected the club to enter into administration in midweek, which would have guaranteed a 12-point deduction from the start of life back in League One.
But with Laurence Bassini managing to secure Ken Anderson’s shares before the worst case scenario was announced, there is now a feeling of optimism in the Bolton camp.
“I was told there would be a finish to this, one way or another. It was administration or a new owner,” he said.
“An administrator had been appointed and I think most people in the club were relieved, it was like finally we can draw a line through the current situation and start building again.
“We are just looking forward now to seeing what this means for the club.
“The pressure is off a bit at Blackburn, so I hope the players can enjoy the game.”
