Today if i see a Leyland Comet on film or shows i get the shivers especially when it growls and moves, i got chased by one.

Going onto a building site as a kid, and getting stuck in a sewer pipe. It was the beginning of my glorious career in the world of avoidable mishaps, and left me a lifelong claustrophobic to boot.

Noisy buggers too, peacocks. I was attacked by a pelican at Plymouth zoo.
We'd gone down to watch the Wanderers in the final match of the season, and my day started badly when, upon arrival in Plymouth, I threw up in my duffle bag.
As we were early we decided on a trip to the zoo, which was as small a zoo as I've ever been in, and two minutes into the visit, I was confronted by the pelican, walking about, bold as brass on the walkway.
Like most large birds with an enormous bill, it took an instant dislike to me, and started biting at my arm, and, although this wasn't painful, it was scary, not to say embarrassing.
Far from coming to my aid, a zoo keeper escorted us from the zoo, after accusing me of annoying and frightening pelican.
I've no idea why the creature was loose, but ever since I've been unable to look at one without wanting to punch it in the mouth.

There is a peacock that I believe roams free up Johnson Fold to this day.

Nice that they got let back into their natural habitat after Animal World closed.

One of my best friend's killed herself when she was 15.

Not a day goes by I don't think about her.

Hope everyone's ok this evening

I know where you're coming from. A friend of mine took his own life, and I still beat myself up about not noticing any warning signs.
But the fact is, to all and sundry, he was as happy a man as you'd ever meet. I'm still no wiser as to what went wrong in his life.
Look at poor Gary Speed, who seemed to have everything.

My heart goes out to you both.

My cousin who is similar in age to me had a complete breakdown in his thirties and has been on medication since and will be to the end of his life,

He was always a bit strange from childhood, so I guess it didn't come as a complete surprise but back in those days you just had to get on with it, there wasn't the help and support as there is today.

I guess Hipsters friend and your workmate somehow could conceal their personal demons much better than my cousin did, so when they committed suicide it must have come out of the blue and a  complete shock to both of you.

Fair play to you both keeping their memory alive.

Talking is so important Sluffy. God forbid I should ever have such feelings, but I hope if the circumstances arose, I'd have the capacity to reach out for help.

Coming back from midnight mass on Christmas morning about 1am when i was around 12 it was snowing and freezing  a man came running into my street yelling,a car comes round the corner skidding to a halt half on the pavement two men get out and smash him with bats or bars there's blood on my mates front door they pick him up put him in the boot then they stare at me and my mother she drags me into our house shouting it's none of our business. Salford was a great place to grow up.

Kray's Taxis always had a bad reputation.
